I write about people that I find in graveyards, and sometimes other places. Part of my deal is that I’m really taken with the idea that people who lived well before the internet now have a digital footprint. I put those digitized references together with other records, to build a picture of someone’s life.
You may have heard me on the podcast “A Study of Strange,” talking about Cora Stallman, the woman who was found in the cistern (or was she…?), and the subject of many of my blog posts. I spent a very enjoyable hour talking to host Michael May about Cora and her mysteries. Hear for yourself!
If you’re new to my blog because of that, welcome welcome!
All the Cora pages are here. There are a lot of them.
You can also read about:
- My first foray into this kind of searching
- How that led me to uncover a hidden family scandal, and TOO MANY FRANKS
- That time I found the unmarked grave of a blues musician.
- Lady Bledzo, a flapper/dame/scammer close to my heart
- My family
- And sometimes I just write about the STUFF aspect of genealogy
Enjoy!
